Trying to solve a repository dilemma to share my code. I've heard at least of GitHub, Pastebin, and DPaste, but I wonder which to choose. Any recommendations/considerations?
GitHub and I had issues. Never found it very intuitive and even trying to find a code sample was an effort in futility. Don't know about their snippet sharing part because I was too frustrated with them in general to care to try it. Pastebin simply worked. Easy. Login or no, it has just worked and been very easy.
I never tried dpaste, but I just went and looked at it. I have seen a few others use it. It is a simple interface and seems to be just as easy. No long term code there. Just 7 to 30 days and poof. For getting a small bit of code checked, that is great. If you want to share an example longer, pastebin is probably better. But if you want just bang, paste and go, dpaste gets d-job done!
Thanks! That makes sense. I think I'll try both GitHub and Pastebin and I probably won't bother trying out Dpaste for now.
You can use GIST from Github as an individual code dump as opposed to setting up repositories in Github. You can post anonymously or using your Github account. Extremely simple and intuitive. gist.github.com
I see. I must try out these options. Thanks @PumpsieGreen!
