why a television is called TV Set? what does it mean by the term SET suffixed to tv? plz help me by replying quickly. thanks

I think the "set" either refers to the collection of components in the TV (that were newly combined at the time)

or the fact that you had to set it up in a special way (before TVs were easier to use)

like a lot of technology, there are terms we use that simply do not exist today

example: when you "dial" a phone, you're really typing the numbers and you're not really using a rotary dialing at all
