What function is represented by the graph below? Graph begins in the third quadrant near the line y=-3 and increases slowly while crossing the ordered pair (0,-2). When the graph enters the first quadrant, it begins to increase quickly throughout the graph. Select one: A. f(x) = 3x B. f(x) = 3x - 3 C. f(x) = 3x + 3 D. f(x) = 3(x + 3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is it B?

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Well, that's the one that seems to go closest to (0,-2), but it doesn't cross (0,-2) in any way that I can see - none of them do.

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

they all seem to behave generally alike, differing mostly in how close the come to (0,-2)..

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Do they show you an actual graph?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I wish they did! It would make this a lot more easier. :P Well, I'm going to go with B. and hopefully I get it right! Thank you for the clarification. :)
