Part 1: Explain, in complete sentences, how you would use the graphing method to solve the following system of equations. Part 2: Provide the solution to the system. Part 3: Explain what the solution represents on the graph. x + 4y = –16 3x + 2y = 12 please help

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

OK, so you know how to graph them?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Then you can answer part 1. And if you graph it, you can solve part 2. Funny, but 3 is basically covered as part of 1!

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

So where is the problem part of this for you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It was being able to explain it in sentences and knowing how to make sure my answer was correct.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Sorry bout that, got involved in something else. The description is not too hard. Graph the lines and look for where they intersect. The point of intersection is a solution that both equations share. As for how to verify it, there are some online graphing tools. Here is the one I feel is best for this stuff: https://www.desmos.com/calculator/lhu3ljii7a
