The slope of a line that is perpendicular to a line whose slope is 3/8 is *-8/3 *3/8 *8/3

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

do you know what is meant by "perpendicular"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Right?

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

well, I mean for the slope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Haha, uh, no..

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

ok, when it is asked to be perpendicular it means that the slope needs to be opposite reciprocal what that means, for example if I have a slope of 2, opposite reciprocal would be -1/2 or if I have 3/4, opposite reciprocal would be -4/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So i'd be -8/3?

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

good job

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks bunches!

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

yw :)
