Choose all of the expressions that are equal to −9. |−9| −(−9) −|−9| −|9| the distance from zero to nine the opposite of nine so far i've chosen -|9|..

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

it says to choose all, you have another expression that is = to -9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it means the only one's that apply ..

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

you have more than one expression

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

because - [-9] is also equal to -9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's "C" and "D" because anything with the absolute value sign becomes positive, so the inclusion of the negative sign makes the whole expression negative. |9| = |-9| "B" doesn't work because a double negative is a positive. "A" doesn't work because anything that has | | put around it becomes positive.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah but it's asking which of the following are equal to, -9 out of the one's below it.. if you get what i'm saying.?

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

it is also the opposite of 9
