Which of the following best summarizes the purpose of environmental remediation? to restore water to its original purity levels to make the most of currently used technologies and resources to remove pollution or contamination from the environment to reuse materials that would otherwise go to waste

OpenStudy (aaronq):

what's environmental remediation? without knowing what you mean by that, i would say that the answer is " to remove pollution or contamination from the environment"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that is exactly what it means actually, thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

have another question

OpenStudy (aaronq):

haha no problem. sure what is it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oil spills can have a devastating effect on ground water, soil quality and marine life. Based on this knowledge, what is the appropriate action for society to take regarding oil? Because of the demand for oil, nothing should be done. Oil should be made illegal regardless of the energy demand. Better regulations and improved shipping should be developed and enforced. Finding someone to blame quickly helps everyone feel better about the future of oil.

OpenStudy (aaronq):

the only one that is rational is the third: "Better regulations.." the other ones are extreme and wouldn't work in the real world.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

makes sense, wasnt looking at it that way, but thanks for your help ..

OpenStudy (aaronq):

no problem ! you gotta keep an open mind about everything. Also, when you're doing multiple choice exercises, work by process of elimination.
