Please help!! What is the midpoint between (-8, 5) and (2, -2)?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

to find the midpoint, you just add up the corresponding coordinates, then divide by 2

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

for instance, the x coordinate of the midpoint is found by adding up the x coordinates -8 and 2 to get -8+2 = -6 then you divide by 2 to get -6/2 = -3

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

so the x coordinate of the midpoint is -3

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

do the same for the y coordinates to get the y coordinate of the midpoint

Thank you so much!

you're welcome
