How many three digit numbers have only even digits?

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

is zero considered even?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no just 2,4,6,8

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

ok for each place value there is a 4/10 chance its even its a 3 digit num so 3 place values \[(\frac{4}{10})^{3} = \frac{8}{125}\] so each number has a 8/125 chance of having all even digits 1000 total possible numbers \[\frac{8}{125} * 1000 = 64\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thank i tried this and it was wrong

OpenStudy (zarkon):

why arn't you using 0 as even?

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

hmm i can check again but i think its right...yeah maybe zeros count in which case its 50/50 whether a digit is even

OpenStudy (zarkon):

except fore the first digit. (it can't be zero)
