* Check my work ! The yearly attendance at a local restaurant is 36,500 and grows continuously at a rate of 5.6% each year. What is the approximate attendance at the restaurant in 12 years? 38,597 61,028 70,188 71,472 -------- 36500 * 5.6 *12 + 36500 =61028.0 ?

First, convert 5.6 % to a decimal number and add it to "1". You add to 1 because you have the original attendance PLUS the 5.6 % increase. Second, you multiply this by the original attendance. This becomes the attendance after a year. Call this the "year 1 end" attendance. Now, repeat these 2 steps. Third, as you keep doing this for each year, you will see a pattern of "1 + 5.6 %" as a factor as many times as the years pass, so this factor will have an exponent equal to the # of years passed.

So, (36500)(1 + 0.056)^12

All good now, @NaCl ?

Good luck to you in all of your studies @NaCl

@tcarroll010 thank you ! Idk why your not rank 100 ? you should be !

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol, thx anyway! I have not answered enough questions to be ranked that high and I'm not sure, but I think only 1 person (the person having answered the most questions) gets ranked that high! @NaCl

The important thing though is when a student gets good help and learns. My rank is not important.
