OpenStudy (jack1):

In pea plants, purple flowers (P) are dominant over white flowers (p) and tall stems (T) are dominant over short stems (t). Complete a dihybrid cross for parents with the genotypes: PpTT × ppTt and answer the following in complete sentences. Describe how you would set up a Punnett square for this cross. List the likelihood of each possible offspring genotype. List the likelihood of each possible offspring phenotype.

hey

OpenStudy (jack1):

dammit i didnt read the whole question, sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its okay

OpenStudy (jack1):

so you've only got 2 plant types but there are a couple pf combinations each could come out with

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so how would i describe that?

thomaster (thomaster):

There are 2 combinations for the genotype PpTT (PT and pT) and also 2 combinations for ppTt (pT and pt) So you punnett would look like this: |dw:1372235793855:dw|

thomaster (thomaster):

For the hybrid cross you attached, they use 2 genotypes with 4 combinations (RrYy = RY + Ry + rY + ry) That's why that punnett square has 16 boxes and yours only 4

OpenStudy (jack1):

@lyssa_shipley1 i'm so sorry for disappearing halfway through, my laptop died cheers @thomaster for answering
