OpenStudy (caozeyuan):

(a) draw the polar equation r=theta, for theta greater than and equal to 0, but less than or equal to pi/2, draw, on the same diagram the line theta=a where a is greater than 0 but less thanpi/2 (b) if the line theta=a devided the curve into two region with same area, find the value of a. I'm particularly struggling with part(B), so please help!

@amistre64

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the corrdinants (r,theta), for a constant theta, is just a line thru the origin with a slope of tan(theta)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the curve r=theta creates a spiral, archimedes spiral i believe

OpenStudy (caozeyuan):

but it only requires theta from 0 to pi/2
