3x = 2 divide 3 both sides
x = 2/3

5(2/3) + y = 9
10/3 + y = 9
y= 9-10/3
y = 17/3

check
2(2/3) +17/3 = 21/3 0r 4/3 + 17/3 = 21/3 or 7......check
and
5(2/3) +17/3 = 27/3 or 10/3 + 17/3 = 27/3 or 9..........check
