How can you solve this problem? 1. Beni's uncle is building a deck for her house that is proportional to the 12- feet by 20- feet deck he built for his house. The scale factor between his deck and her deck is one point five. Which of the following could be a measurement for Beni's deck? 6 feet 18 feet 20 feet 24 feet
The uncle's deck is 12 by 20 her deck will be 1.5 times bigger...ie each dimension is 1.5 times the dimensions that make up the uncle's deck 12*1.5 = 18 20*1.5 = 30 So her deck will be 18 by 30
I get it now. in the lesson it said something like that I just didn't get it. Thanks :)

1. MATH HELP PLEASE!!!! Which of the following is true about this shape? It does not have rotational symmetry It has rotational symmetry of order 2. it has rotational symmetry of order 4. It has rotational symmetry of order 8.
can you rotate this so it lines up with the original image?
and keep in mind that the angle of rotation can't be 360 or more
this is the original image
i know
can you rotate the image at all so that it matches up with itself (but the angle of rotation is between 0 and 360)
how do I rotate it? on a piece of paper?
yeah either draw it out or try to imagine it
got it, but when you match it up how do you no if it is of any order?
well how many times does it match up?
you'll find it matches up with itself 2 times, so the order is 2 here is a page that explains the whole idea (with pictures and animations) http://www.mathsisfun.com/geometry/symmetry-rotational.html
Ohhhh I get it since it has two arrows it is the order two.
yeah that's a quick and easy way to remember
thank you. Math is hard for me since I have no one to explain it to me.
you're welcome, glad to be of help
