OpenStudy (babyslapmafro):

Please help me describe the domain of f in words...(click to see)

OpenStudy (babyslapmafro):

\[f(x,y)=xe ^{-\sqrt{y+2}}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

every single number except the numbers that will make the square root negative

OpenStudy (babyslapmafro):

oh i see, it is essentially asking when the function is undefined

OpenStudy (anonymous):

undefined when the square root is negative :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u got that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because we have a sequare root we can say that the function is defined at (x,y) iff : \[y+2\geq0\] And this equivalent to : \[y\geq -2\] So : \[D=\{(x,y)\in\mathbb R^2~/~ y\geq2\}\]

OpenStudy (babyslapmafro):

all values of x and all values of y great than or equal to -2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have done a mistype : \[D=\{(x,y)\in\mathbb R^2~/~ y\geq-2\}\]
