Let f(x) = 3x+2 and g(x) = x2 Part 1 [2 points] Find f(g(x)) Part 2 [2 points] Find g(f(x)) Part 3 [4 points] Use complete sentences to explain any difference in part 1 and part 2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know that \[f(g(x))=3x^2+2\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I also know that \[g(f(x))=9x^2+12x+4\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How do I describe the difference?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

I think it might mean for you to point out that for f(g(x)) you replace each x in the function f with the function g and for the g(f(x)) you replace each x in the function g with the function f.

What's the difference in equations, I don't think I have the vocabulary to explain it.

OpenStudy (mertsj):

If you want the actual difference, then subtract.
