Point A is located at (3, 4) and is translated left 5 and up 3. What is the new location of point A? A. (8, 7) B. (8, 1) C. (-2, 1) D. (-2, 7)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so you start at (3,4) where x = 3 and y = 4 we move to the left 5.... so we subtract 5 from x. now we want to move up 3.... so we add 3 to y

makes sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yess! -2, 7 . i don't like when they put words like translation in there cause then i just feel like second guessing myself. thanks, i stepped away for a minute so my apologies for making you wait.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's all good, when they say 'translate' they just mean move

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i can never remember what they all mean, reflection is easy haha thats about it for me, after all these assignments my brain is toast anyway. (;
