How many numbers between 20 and 99 are equal to 6 times an integer? a. 3 b. 13 c. 16 d. 17

13

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

This is equivalent to asking how many multiples of 6 are between 20 and 99. The first multiple of 6 between 20 and 99 is 24, and the last is 96. Take the difference, divide by 6 and add 1.

@whpalmer4 why add 1?

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

because you have taken the difference, one term is excluded while taking the difference like for example, in 1 to 99, we know there are 99 terms, but difference = 99-1 = 98

ohh thankyou :)
