What is the difference between particle theory of light and wave theory of light

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The particle theory of light will treat light as a stream of particles (photon). While in the case of a wave theory of light light will be considered as an electromagnetic wave that can travel through vacuum and travel with the speed of light.

in partical theory of light we study partical nature of light as photons and in wave theory we study wave nature of light as they form diffraction, inferaction, polariztion

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wave theory - the light behaves as waves when propagated in space. particular theory - the light behaves as particles ( photons ) when travelling is space. generally the light have double character ( wave .. particle )
