help me? Simplify 9(8a + 5) + 6a. a. 78a + 45 c. 66a + 45 b. 78a – 45 d. 78a + 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First distribute 9 into the parenthesis, can you do that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no how do you do it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just multiply 9 and 8 first... 72 right? And add "a" on the end changing it to 72a. Then multiply 9 and 5 changing it to 45. So all we have left to do is: 72a + 45 + 6a

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you combine like terms? Meaning adding 72a and 6a?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh its 78a + 45
