Can someone help me find X and Y? PLS & TY! (pic below)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OK im super confused with this..

OpenStudy (noelgreco):

D and 58 are supplemental angles

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A is my answer then?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thats what i got

OpenStudy (noelgreco):

You can calculate D. What do you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do i calculate d?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

a straight line adds to 180

OpenStudy (amistre64):

and 58 is the average of x and 23

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So A isnt my answer, because you ignored my question..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

58+23=81

OpenStudy (amistre64):

lets try: 58 = (x+23)/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do i solve for x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cuz i got 93.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can anyone help me? Ive spent over 10 minutes on this already..

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i got 93 too,

OpenStudy (amistre64):

but y still 180 = y + 58

OpenStudy (anonymous):

180-93+58

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i see my error, 23 should be dbled

OpenStudy (amistre64):

(x+46)/2 = 58 x+46 = 116 x = 116 - 46 or 93 - 23

OpenStudy (anonymous):

46

OpenStudy (amistre64):

lets just say: y = 122, and x does not equal 116 ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks. lol

OpenStudy (amistre64):

:) yep
