Factor this expression. Check by multiplying factors. x^2y-xyb-abx+ab^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(xy-ab)(x-b)

OpenStudy (keke1551):

are you sure?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

let me explain wait

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Factor the greatest common factor or known as GCF from each group. First I did this: (xy(x-b)-ab(x-b)) Factor the polynomial by grouping the first two terms together and finding the GCF. Next, group the second two terms and find the GCF. Since both groups contains the factor (x-b), then they are combined. (xy-ab)(x-b) = this is the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i hope it helps

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x^2y-xyb-abx+ab^2 you need to change the variable alphabetically within the expression -xyb. So the expression will change into this: x^2-bxy-abx+ab^2
