how do you find the area of a circle in terms of pi?

hartnn (hartnn):

Area of circle is just \(A = \pi r^2\) so, just square the radius and write it besides pi!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so if the diameter of the circle is 14 the answer would be 196pi?

hartnn (hartnn):

the 'r' there is the radius! and diameter = 2* radius so your radius will be 14/2 = 7 and area will be just 49 pi got this ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes! thank you

hartnn (hartnn):

welcome ^_^
