Analyze the effect of the third person narrator in Kate Chopin’s “The Story of an Hour.” How would the story be different if told in first person?

I would move your question to the literature subject :)

I feel that if the story was told in the first person view then it could lose much of its appeal and flair. Chopin's "Story of the Hour" uses a lot of irony and suspense to deliver an impact. The reader is given knowledge that the characters are unaware of which makes the story much more dramatic. If it where in first person, the reader would lose all of that which would result in a confusing story. The only benefits would be that the reader could understand the wife's position better but the drama would be lost in turn.
