Write a polynomial function of minimum degree with real coefficients whose zeros include those listed. Write the polynomial in standard form. 2, -4, and 1 + 3i

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know it's (x^2 + 2x - 8)(x-(1+3i))(x-(1-3i)) But Idk where to go from there

OpenStudy (blurbendy):

distribute the - sign on one of the imaginary solutions, and multiply it by the x^2 + 2x - 8, then multiply the other imaginary solution to the answer you got by the previous multiplication. you should get: x^4 -2x^2 +36x -80

Awesome! Thanks!
