How to find scale factor of two Triangles??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Scale factor is kind of vague, I assume you have two triangles that are similar, and you are being asked to find the ratio of two corresponding sides, it would help if you said the specific problem.

There's two triangles AB= 2 DE=12 BC=4 EF=24 AC=4 DF=24 I need to find the scale factor for them ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How do I find the scale factor I just need the formula so I can do the rest

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The 'scale factor' is 6 with respect to the first triangle, just divide the bigger triangles sides with its corresponding smaller triangles sides

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Find corresponding sides for each triangle, and divide the bigger side by its corresponding smaller side, if there all the same, then that is your scale factor, they are similar triangles in addition

Ohh ok so I divide each side of one triangle with the second triangle so I can get the scale factor??

Ok I got it thank you very much :D
