OpenStudy (mackenzie2013):

I went blank on this question- Which comparison is not correct? -1 > -5 7 > -9 5 < -8 -7 < -2

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

Which one doesn't make sense? Do you know how to read those? @Mackenzie2013

OpenStudy (mackenzie2013):

I do ! Im thinking -1> -5 is the correct answer

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

Actually -1 is Greater than -5 because of where it falls on the number line.

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

It is closer to positive and all positive numbers are greater than negative numbers.

OpenStudy (mackenzie2013):

So 7> -9 ?

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

Hint: ALL POSITIVE numbers are GREATER than negative numbers. There is one up there that contradicts what I just typed.

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

That actually follows what I typed. Look for one that goes against what I just typed.

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

You have two options left. Look at the "number line" below -3 -2 -1 0 1 2 3 You know all the positive numbers are GREATER than the negative ones. The ones to the right are always going to be greater than the ones on the left. The right will never be less than the left.

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

|dw:1372474311278:dw| should be easy to figure out if you refer to the number line

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

@Mackenzie2013 which one did you choose?

OpenStudy (mackenzie2013):

5 < -8

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

Yay!!!

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

Go ahead @Mackenzie2013 !!

OpenStudy (mackenzie2013):

Thanks !
