OpenStudy (anonymous):

The Boxer Rebellion occurred before the communist movement became strong. It occurred before WWI and it was meant to remove foreigners from China. The Long March was an attempt by the Communist to remove the Nationalists and to strengthen communism in the country. The Chinese Nationalist Revolt was an attempt to remove the communist and united the nation under their own political beliefs. Chiang Kai-shek was a supporter of democracy and traditional Chinese values. He later ended up in Taiwan where he ended up ruling the island after being forced to leave China. He also participated in the Long March but on the Nationalist side. So it looks the remaining answer would have to be C.
