what is a duration of artificial crowns of teeth?anyone knows the cost of tooth crowning ,coz i have to do it

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Tooth crowns are free if you have Dental or government health insurance. Artificial crowns last about 3 years. If you are paying for a crown out of pocket, then expect to fork forward a few hundred dollars (or pounds if you're European.) It really depends on the type of crown that you want. There are silver crowns which are the most common. Then there's golden crowns which last a little longer and look better. But, if you want a real nice crown, you can get a tooth-colored white crown so it doesn't even look like you have one! Those can go for about a thousand dollars if you have it.

what about the side effects

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Side affects are limited. For example, NEVER put any type of foil or metal on the crown. It will hurt REALLY bad. Also, you'll need to get softer bristles on your toothbrush or else you might scrape the crown out earlier than it should be. Don't chew a lot of gum or sticky candy because you can pull it out that way.

i have mutant teeth as they are yellow in colours since my birth.and dentist suggest me for crowing when i willbe 19..and now im 19 ...its difficult

OpenStudy (magbak):

No not realy difficult.

OpenStudy (compassionate):

You can get your teeth whitened.

OpenStudy (magbak):

That is usualy very expensive.

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Home whitening systems work very well. Unless you have impacted yellow colors. Then you'll need to get it done professionally. Buy a lot of stuff and bulk up a tax refund + your job, and get a whitening every year or so until they look appropriate to your liking.

Well he left any way.

OpenStudy (dean.shyy):

The life span of a crown is about 10 years, but more if proper care is taken. It can cost around $1,000 without insurance. However, prices fluctuate depending on the location and dentist seen.
