The graph below represents which system of inequalities? y < -2x + 6 y < x + 2 y -2x + 6 y x + 2 y < x - 2 y > 2x + 2 None of the above

OpenStudy (magbak):

It is A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks, would you be able to explain why its A?

OpenStudy (magbak):

Yes because the first line has a ngative slope and the second has a positive slope so that is the only set of equations with a negative and positive slop.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B has a negative and positive slope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@magbak

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well b does not have inequalities in them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so we do not know how to graph them w/o those telling us how so you can eliminate that answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B. \[y \le -2x+6\] \[y \le x+2\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright so the difference between the two systems is that choice A is only "less then" while choice B is only "less then and equal too" so the way you tell the difference by looking at the graph is the actual line notice that the line is dotted and not a bold line since we know that we can eliminate choice B as a valid answer

ok
