OpenStudy (jhannybean):

what two numbers multiply to give you -39 and add to give you -10?

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

hint: multiples of 39. 1 x 39 3 x 13

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that would be -1 x -39 and -3 x -13 and -1 x -10 and -2 x -5 correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry both would not be - only one would be

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

try out 3 x 13. When you add these two together, what do you get? When you multiply these, what do you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

adding them you get 16 and multiplying them you get 39

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

Oh sorry! i meant subtracting* >.<

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

-13 + 3 = -10. -13 x 3 = -39.
