Which of the following is not true regarding the “collision theory” scientific model? The model simplifies the actual collision process. The model is based on much scientific research and experimentation. The model attempts to explain why some collisions result in products and others do not. The model is based on actual molecular collision observations.

please help me :(

OpenStudy (frostbite):

Without putting my head on the block I would say the statement "The model is based on actual molecular collision observations." In collision theory we use statical information in order to say anything about the system. For example we use the Maxwell-distribution if we have to say anything about the speed of the molecules... usually the mean speed...

But I'm not quite sure what each option involves.

OpenStudy (frostbite):

"The model simplifies the actual collision process. " is for example very poorly phrased

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you were correct :)

Yay. Thank you physical chemistry course. If you want more info on the topic let me know. :)
