Can anyone double check my homework question and answer? Solve v as a real number: (v-1)^3 -88=0
what is your answer?
v=1+2^3√11 or ^3√88+1 Both seems like logical answer for v as a real number.
yup
Which is equal to v as a real number: v=
It seems that you are saying that the answers are the same but written differently. You said something about turning it around? will v=1+2^3√11 suffice as the correct answer?
Just for your information, wolfram shows you all 3 roots http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=+%28v-1%29%5E3+-88%3D0
that was not so you can "cheat", but to show all the roots...
My teacher gave our class several of these websites to check our work and the book and teacher said we should seek strategies and confirmation for others online! So I am, just checking my homework before I turn it in!
P.S. There is no cheating in strategies to gain knowledge, Algebra is like life, it is about making connections and expressions!
I have met really lovely people on this site!
good luck
