35=2/s+13
help solving please!!
\[35 = \frac{ 2 }{ s } + 13\] The first step would be to subtract 13 from both sides of the equation. Can you do that for me, hun?
i got 0.09 for my answer
it would be better to keep the answer in "symbolic" form...what was the fraction before you divided?
Susana, you want to subtract 13. So: 35 - 13 = 22 So we have: \[22 = \frac{ 2 }{ s }\] Now, since 2 is being divided, the opposite would be to multiply both sides by 2, right?
yes correct
Can you multiply by 2, hun?
There are at least two obvious fractions which might be expressed as 0.09, but only one of them is a correct answer to this problem. 9/100 = 0.09 (exactly) but I don't think that is what you had. 1/11 is 0.090909090909090909090909...
well thanx for the help !!!!!!1
You're welcome, Susana.
