well what are the largest common factors of 2, -8 and 6 ...........2 x^3, x^2 and x .............x then y^4, y^3 and y^2 ...........y^2 so you have 2xy^2 as the largest common factor so you need to seem whats left in each term so you will have something that looks like \[2xy^2 ( new term 1 - new term 2 + new term 3)\] I'll let you work out the new terms
