How is a pink flower recessive?

thomaster (thomaster):

Probably because it needs 2 recessive alleles for the pink color to express. Usually a pink flower is the result from combining a purebred red flower with a purebred white flower. The genotypes would be RR (red) X rr (white). The pink flower would be Rr, so not recessive, but heterozygous (so dominant trait comes to expression).
