I have to fill in the blank but I need help on this one x - 7 > 10 x>___
Solving inequalities is a lot like solving equations: Transpositions still work. Imagine if it were \[\Large x-7 = 10\] instead. You bring the -7 to the other side, but change its sign in the process. What do you get?
3?
:) A common mistake. Just remember that when transferring terms between equations (or inequalities) Like say I want to transfer a +c from the left side to the right side... \[\Large a \color{red}{+c}=b\] We change its sign to negative. \[\Large a = b\color{blue}{-c}\]
Same goes for negative-to-positive.
17?
That's right :) Transfer the -7 from left-to-right, but the - becomes + \[\Large x \color{blue}{-7}>10\] \[\Large x > 10 \color{red}{+7}\] \[\Large x > 17\]
ok thank you guys!!!
No problem :)
I need help on another one 6n-3 > -18 n>___
