OpenStudy (phi):

I think each side of triangle DEF is 3/4ths the corresponding side of triangle ABC

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im really lost here

OpenStudy (phi):

just to get the idea, if DEF had sides 1/2 the lengths of the sides of ABC you could figure out the size of the sides of DEF ? They would be 1/2 as big. here DEF is 3/4 the size. if ABC had a side = 1, DEF would have a side 3/4 as big or 3/4* 1= 3/4 you multiply the side in ABC by 3/4 to get the size of the side in triangle DEF

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@phi so ED=9

OpenStudy (phi):

yes ED= 3/4 of AB or 3/4 * 12 = 3* 12/4 = 3*3= 9

OpenStudy (phi):

but I thought you want DF

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks i get it now well i got to go

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh yes thats right '

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@phi hey im back sorry about that i was on break

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so would it be 11.25?
