Carbohydrates are produced during the ______ reaction of photosynthesis. dark light

thomaster (thomaster):

Do you know the difference between dark and light reactions of photosynthesis?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

actually i do not

thomaster (thomaster):

Photosynthesis: \(\sf\Large 6CO_2+6H_2O ~~\underrightarrow{sunlight}~C_6H_{12}O_6+6O_2\) the light reaction is the reaction that requires sunlight. In this reaction, sunlight is used to split water in oxygen and hydrogen. During light reactions NADPH and ATP are formed when solar energy is converted into chemical energy. In the dark reaction, the energy from the sunlight (the NADPH and ATP) are used to combine water and carbondioxide to form glucose (a carbohydrate)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so would it be light

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is NADPH

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nvm got it thx

thomaster (thomaster):

No it's dark... the carbohydrates are produced in the dark reaction
