This is Pre-Calculus: Could someone explain to me how I would find the domain and range of (2)/(x^2-2x-3)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

factor the denominator the domain is whatever makes the denominator zero the range is what values y can be. check to see if there is any restriction on y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the range is a bit harder

OpenStudy (anonymous):

domain is x != 1, and x != -3 where "!=" means is not equal to

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait i got x=-1 and x=3

OpenStudy (anonymous):
