Scenario: Flipping a coin once Number of possible outcomes: 2 Desired event (E): Tails P (E): Odds in favor: odds against:

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

Probability is essentially: Number of desired outcomes divided by the total number of outcomes. You've been given the total, which is 2. How many of these events are 'tails' ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There is a 5% chance, I calculated it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know what you mean by how many events are tails.

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

Can't possibly be a 5% chance. I mean, of the total number of possible events, how many of them are tails? (There are only two possible events: heads and tails and only one of them is 'tails')

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There is only one tail.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got 1:2 for the probability, 1:2 for the odds in favor.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@terenzreignz Haven't done the odds against yet. I'm working on it.
