the graph means \[x \le 5\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thsnk you very much

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is that it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, well the equation of the line is 1/2x-2, but is y less than, greater than, or equal to, is the question.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y is greater than, or equal to 1/2x-2 because the above area is shaded and the line is solid. If the line was dotted that mean y is just greater than 1/2x-2 final answer\[y \ge \frac{ 1 }{ 2 }x-2\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you is it possible if you can solve this one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We have \[3x+8<2\] and \[x+12>2-x\] the way to solve these is treat the < and > like they were = and solve for x.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First one is \[x<-2\] second one is \[x >5\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and this is the last one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For the question I did, to satisfy both the equations the answer would actually be -5<x<-2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The points on the line are included because the line is solid.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you bless you

Glad to help.
