use synthetic division and the remainder theorem to evaluate p(c)

I don't see the link between synthetic division and the remainder theorem and p(c). To me, if I have to calculate p(c) , I just plug x =-1 into the function to get the value of p(c)
so, I don't understand what you want me to do
