A woman drives 10 miles, accelerating uniformly from rest to 65 mph. How long does it take for her to reach 65 mph?

OpenStudy (kropot72):

Assuming the uniform acceleration takes place throughout the journey of 10 miles, the average speed of the journey is 65/2 mph. The time taken for the journey is \[t=\frac{distance}{speed}=\frac{10}{\frac{65}{2}}=\frac{10\times 2}{65}\ hour\] This is also the time taken to reach 65 mph.
