Which of the following is a similarity between the Minoans and the Mycenaeans? Both of their languages were very similar to the Greek spoken language. They both dominated their regions at the same time. Both had a society that revolved around the palace. Modern scholars have deciphered both of their writing systems.

The Minoan civilization came before the Mycenaean civilization. Minoan was also highly advanced and by all accounts a peaceful people who dominated the Aegean by trade rather then war. Mycenaean came later and were a very war oriented people, most notably in Homers Iliad. A similarity would be that they were both sea faring and great sailors along with they were the foundation for early Greek culture.

I would choose " Both had a society that revolved around the palace. " because a number of the minoan linear-a signs have not been deciphered and the phaistos disk still has not been convincingly deciphered. as for "a", the mycenaean language was an archaic greek dialect; however, the minoan language is still debated as what it could be. most agree that it is a pre-hellenic Aegean language.
