you know if that when Eric goes to school, he goes to bed early

so, you're staking him out with a pair of binoculars
and you notice that he'd usually go to bed on schools nights at 8pm
but from your binoculars, he's still awake, and you notice on your watch is 9pm
so is 9pm and he's still awake

so, your conclusion will be that he probably doesn't have school in the morning
