Describe the graphs of the functions f(x) = 2x + 1 and g(x) = –2x + 1. Compare and contrast the domain and range of f(x) and g(x).

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Do you recognize these as linear equations?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think this is the answer. The Domain and Range are both all real numbers. The first function has a positive slope and intersects at y=1. The second function has a negative slope and intersects at y=1.

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Very good. You might want to say the the y intercept of both functions is 1 therefore the two lines cross at the point (0,1) which is the solution of the system.

Alright. Thank you. :)
