Calculating your grade.  If you have two tests to take, x and y, each weighted equally (to keep things simple, but you could assign whatever weights you'd like), and you want to make an A, the inequality would be expressed as$$0.5x+0.5y \ge90$$

x is the speed of my car.
Then x <= 50 for me to be driving at a legal speed.

Obviously, the grade example could be expanded to include the average of several assignments, each group of which weighted differently, but your overall average would need to be greater-than or equal-to 90.
