Given the system of equations, what is the solution? 2x + y = -1 x - y = -5 {(-8, -3)} {(2, 7)} {(-2, 3)}

There are several ways to solve this. You can either solve one equation for either x or y and plug that into the second equation to solve for the other variable. Then plug that number in. OR you can add both equations and you will have the y's cancel out to give you something you can solve for x. From there plug the value into either equation and solve.
