Describe a real life scenario where inequalities are used and state the inequality

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

You are on an elevator. The elevator can only hold 1,000 pounds. If you weight 100 pounds, and the rest of your friends all weigh exactly 120 pounds. Write an equality, to find out how many friends can be in the elevator. Make sense?

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

Okay, well it's not really a real life scenario. Let me think of another one.

OpenStudy (jenniferjuice):

.... it's sorta understandable

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@GoldPhenoix that was a very creative question i would have never have thought of that lol :)

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

I got one. You have 100 dollars. You bought a 60 dollar shirt. There's a pant that cost 10 dollars each. Write an equality to find out how many pant(s) you can buy. ;) Much better, isn't it?

OpenStudy (jenniferjuice):

okay so the last part

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

\[\large \large 60 + 10x \le 100\] The x represent the amount of pants. Does the inequality make sense?

OpenStudy (jenniferjuice):

okay thankyou
